The reason for sleep disorder varies from person to person,it may be due to a change in sleeping schedule, lack of sleep for days, or sleeping more than enough time. Some underlying illnesses may be the reason like heart disease, asthma, musculoskeletal pain, or any other dysfunction in the body that leads to a sleep disorder.
Psychological, environmental, and lifestyle behaviours, certain medications, physical illness, stress and a variety of factors cause insomnia.
It depends upon the type of sleep disorder. Some disorders are curable like acute insomnia, parasomnias, or circadian Rhythm Disorders. In contrast, chronic insomnia and narcolepsy cannot be permanently treated, but they can be managed effectively with proper care, medication and lifestyle modification.
Your sleep schedule depends upon your age, lifestyle, and health condition. Adults generally need seven to eight hours of sleep per night.
