Rosacea

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a prevalent chronic skin condition which typically affects facial areas such as cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin and results in redness of face, puffiness, pus-filled bumps, and tiny visible blood vessels. A common complication of rosacea is dry, itchy, swollen eyes and eyelids. Most commonly women develop this skin disorder usually after the age of 30, but it’s more severe when men have it. Fair-skinned individuals are more likely to have rosacea. Spicy, cold foods, coffee and alcohol can worsen its symptoms. Sun exposure, psychological stress and use of any steroid creams can also aggravate the symptoms. Rosacea may occur because of your genetics, a bacteria, large number of mites on skin and trouble in the blood vessels.
